Wake is the first book in the Watersong series by Amanda Hocking. It is about a Gemma, her family and friends, and a group of three strange, but beautiful girls. Gemma lives in a seaside town, loves swimming in the ocean, and finds friendships and family to be very important parts of her life. I do not want to give things away, but at one point in time Gemma has to drink this concoction. This inspired my seaside wine bottle craft.
Materials:
- Blue Wine Bottle
- Jute
- Seashells
- Hot Glue Gun
Directions:
- Make sure the wine bottle is clean and the label is completely removed from the bottle. Here is a link to an easy way to remove the glue residue from the label.
- Attach jute to the top of the wine bottle neck with some hot glue. Continue to wrap around the bottle neck, until you have the desired amount wrapped around. Hold end in place with hot glue.
- Attach a strand of jute form the start of the wrapped jute with hot glue.
- Using hot glue attach the desired number of shells to the strand of jute. I used four shells and attached them in decreasing order of size. The big shell on top I glue directly to the strand of jute as well as the wrapped portion for extra support.
I am imagining this on a porch during the summer, with some twinkling strands of lights inside. No wonder Gemma loves the sea so much; it makes for some pretty images.
